PLEASE NOTE: Our rats can be adopted WITHIN a 2-3 hour radius of the GTA or Parry Sound, with possible exceptions depending on circumstances.
We hope your connection with Frankie's World and your rat(s) will be a lasting one, and we are here to support you through ALL OF IT: the adoption, transition, as well as ANY TIME in the future. We also LOVE getting updates on rats in their forever homes! SERIOUSLY, if you have ANY questions, want rat care tips or experience any issues at all, let us know! We are ALWAYS here for rats (whether they've been adopted from us or not), and the humans that care for them.
The questions we ask are to determine the following so please be as honest and open as you can:
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if for whatever reason you are no longer able to properly care for your rat(s), or you believe that your home is no longer a good fit for them, we ask that you PLEASE BRING YOUR RAT(S) BACK TO US! Please do not give away, sell, or re-home them on your own. There is absolutely no judgement, we understand that circumstances can change, and are happy to take them back into our care if need be, whether that be temporarily or permanently.
We have connections with other Ontario rat adoption centres and can link you up with amazing rat shelters in Ontario if our rats aren't suited to you for whatever reason!
If you don't see any rats listed that feel like a good fit, we often have new intakes that aren't yet updated on the website, so if you are looking for something specific, send us a message and we can let you know who else we might have available!

Jake, Chippy, Hugo, and their two brothers (Dellard and Tazer - also an adoptable pair!) were all born safely in rescue care, never having to experience life without love or compassion. These sweet boys are a little shy at first, but with patience and a gentle approach, their personalities begin to shine. They’ll need some time to adjust to a new home and become comfortable with their new human family, but once they feel safe, they make wonderful companions and explore every inch of you! Please give them the chance they deserve.
Dellard (lighter brown) and Tazer (dark brown), and their three brothers (Jake, Chippy, Hugo - also an adoptable trio!) were all born safely in rescue care, never having to experience life without love or compassion. These two brothers were taken to a foster home in Hamilton, to potentially meet new friends at some point. They have become very confident, loving, and attention needy in their foster home, and have now grown to their impressively large adult size! They would be perfect for first-time rat owners or families with kids as they are playful and easy to handle :)

Originally a group of 6, these boys are very sweet, friendly, and ready for a home to take over (only in the most affectionate ways). Coming from a home where they were unwanted and left with a family friend who graciously cared for them as long as they could, they came out on the other side thankfully still full of health and joy. They would be wonderful for first time owners and homes with young kids given their playful friendly nature. They are estimated to be 12 months old.
We believe they would do well integrating with other rats if you have. Want to welcome these cuties into your life? 🏡 Fill out an adoption application to give them the loving home they deserve! 💕
Meet The Bridge Boys! 🌉💙
These adorable baby boys earned their nickname after being discovered under a bridge in Meaford, Ontario. Thankfully, a kind passerby spotted them and reached out to us for urgent help. Thanks to that lifesaving call, these lucky little guys now have a second chance at finding loving forever homes.
Estimated to be between 10–13 weeks old, this trio has proven just how resilient they are. They have had a rough start, but are incredibly curious and with time, would warm up to be comfortable around people, and are ready to become wonderful companions. Whether you're a first-time small animal owner or an experienced rat lover, these sweet boys would make great pets. Their gentle personalities and affectionate nature make them a joy to be around.

Marshmallow came to us recently after he was rescued by an amazing couple of animal lovers who witnessed their neighbour heartlessly dumping him outside by some trash bins. Despite this frightful experience, Marshmallow pushed through and still trusts humans. He is one heck of a confident boy! Given his past, he is very protective of his home and prefers our hands outside of his home. Once he comes out to play though, he is a fun lovely boy who loves his treats and veggies! Call his name and he quickly comes to the front of the cage to greet you.
We are working on integrating Marshmallow with other boys in our rescue so that he can have friends during his time with us. To address his overly nippy, aggressive nature and stress towards hands in his cage, he will be receiving a hormonal implant very soon. For the time being, he can be adopted as a solo boy if you already have boys that he can join. He has already been successfully integrated with an older rat and it went very smoothly!
The mom of these brothers, Matilda, came to our rescue in January heavily pregnant, and gave birth to her pups 2 days later! Matilda did an incredible job of raising them all to be gentle, curious, and affectionate rats. They were handled and socialized from birth, making them the perfect companions with so much love to give to their humans, at any level of rat experience. These boys are the remaining of the litter, and have waited the longest for their forever home.
Based on how previous integration attempts have gone, we strongly recommend not introducing them to other rats. They are the happiest just as the two of them! They are very playful and affectionate to anyone who meets them, but just prefer to not meet new rat friends.

These two boys are becoming fast friends in the rescue after both having come as solo surrenders, with very different backstories.
Baby boy Qiji (white, black face marking) was spotted roaming around in a backyard in Acton. He had been miraculously surviving in the scary outdoors for 3 weeks before a very caring couple captured him in a trap and brought him inside to safety. Despite not having any prior experience with rats, they knew right away little Qiji was not a wild rat, but a domestic rat in danger! We named him Qiji, 'miracle' in Mandarin, because his survival and resilience truly is a miracle 💕. He right away fully trusted humans, and is such a wonderful, cuddly boy. Based on his size, we estimate he is no older than 3 months.
Benji (brown, white belly) thankfully had a much different start to life, coming from a loving home that sadly could not take him with them during their move out of the province. He is an equally cuddly, gentle, sweet soul who wants nothing more than to be beside you at all times! He is estimated to be about a year old, and comes with a unique quirk - different sized eyes! He has always had them like this since being purchased from a pet store back in February.
Qiji and Benji can be adopted together, or individually if you already have boys at home.
