PLEASE NOTE: Our rats can be adopted ALL OVER ONTARIO! We have wonderful volunteers and can arrange rides to almost anywhere so don't let the location stop you from inquiring about some ratties!
Thank you for your interest in pet rat adoption! Our rats have so much love to share and make the BEST companions! Super smart, social, and make very deep bonds with their people, the most "human-like" of any companion animal we've ever had.
If you've decided you want to adopt a pet rat, please fill out the adoption application form below. The questions we ask are to determine the following so please be as honest and open as you can
We hope your connection with Frankie's World and your rat(s) will be a lasting one, and we are here to support you through the transition as well as ANY TIME in the future. We also LOVE getting updates on rats in their forever homes! SERIOUSLY, if you have any questions, want rat care tips or experience any issues at all, let us know! We are always here for you and the rats.
We have done rat adoptions in Hamilton, Burlington, Mississauga, Toronto, Kitchener, London and other cities in southern Ontario. We also have connections with other Ontario rat adoption centres and can link you up with amazing rat shelters in Ontario if our rats aren't suited to you for whatever reason.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if for whatever reason you are no longer able to properly care for your rat(s), or you believe that your home is no longer a good fit for them, we ask that you PLEASE BRING YOUR RAT(S) BACK TO US! Please do not give away, sell, or re-home them on your own. There is absolutely no judgement, we understand that circumstances can change, and are happy to take them back into our care if need be, whether that be temporarily or permanently. We are not a rat breeder, we are a rat adoption centre and only want the best lives for our rescues.
Jimmy and Jasper have had an unlucky start to life and through no fault of their own, are now looking for another family to give them a chance! These boys have come a long way and are getting better every day at being handled and loving spending time with their humans as much as they love each others company.
They need a patient home who will continue to let them grow and not force affection as they get used to a new environment. Once they settle they start to come out of their shells and love to explore their play areas and are super curious about people are crawling on laps. They cannot be integrated with other rats and so need to be in a home where they are the only ones.
Hellooooo! We are Albus, Casper and Coconut. We were pretty lucky to be born at the rescue. Our mommy was rescued from a hoarding situation in Gorrie Ontario and she told us all about how scary life was for her. She always said “back in my day, we had no treats”, and we would shudder at the thought. Can you imagine… NO CHEERIOS?! Anyway now we are all so happy and doing awesome, but one thing is missing: a forever home.
We love people and attention, and have a lot of energy. We were born in March 2024 so we are still pretty young! We have also gotten to meet other boy rats of all ages and we loved them ALL! We aren’t very picky about who we live with as long as they are nice to us. We are bonded and would like to stay together, but would be so excited to make some new friends!!
Everyone who meets us loves us and says we are such good boys… they must be telling the truth! We keep discussing what our ideal home would be and we want someone to play with us and give us as many kisses as possible. We were thinking maybe 10 a day each, but if you wanted to give us 20 we wouldn’t complain! Please consider us as your forever buddies… we promise we would love you forever and ever!
I’m Jim, and this is my brother Tim. We are a pretty shy but we never want to hurt anyone… we just need time to make sure you are safe. It is hard for us to talk about but before we met our foster mom we were actually going to be snake food. We were so scared and nobody ever gave us treats or pets. We watched so many of our siblings be taken and we have no idea where they went, but we don’t think it was good. I am so happy someone came in and saved us, and then they gave us to a place called Frankie’s. We used to have brothers but they were older and passed away. Now it is just my brother and me. We love each other but we have always dreamed of having a home of our own. We would need someone experienced who can give us patience and time… but also lots of treats. We will never say no to in shell peanuts (it is SO fun to remove the shell!!). We also loveeee wrecking tissue boxes and running in our wheel. Life is pretty fun now, but you know what would make it even better… a forever home!
Jimmy and Geo are 10 month old brothers. They love to cuddle in their hammocks together and explore. The black one has a white belly and while paws; his name is Jimmy. The grey one is mostly grey with some white spots. His name is “Geo.”
Jimmy is very docile and likes to roam but fears easily. He's still very young so the more he's interacted with we know he'll come out of his shell. Geo is mostly fearless and is heavily motivated by food. He loves his treats!
Hey there humans! We are Oreo and Poe. We live in a foster home in Parry Sound and need a new forever home. We are bffs so it would be awesome if we stayed together forever. My momma said we are 9 months old, and I have no idea what that means, but apparently humans like to know this fact! We are sweet, friendly and very curious boys. We like to hang out and play lotssss. Also if you give us head pets, that would make us super happy! We are used to being around people so you don’t have to have much experience to adopt us… we will show you just how awesome rats can be. If you want to be our forever home, my momma said there is a link you can click to fill out something called an adoption application. I have no idea what any of that means, but I hope there are cheerios involved! I hope we can meet you soon!!
The three albino boys are now seven months old and are full of energy always wanting to explore! They are Friendly and easy to handle but will need some time to really bond to their new family. They would be great for anyone with any level of experience with rats.
