PLEASE NOTE: Our rats can be adopted WITHIN a 2-3 hour radius of the GTA or Parry Sound, with possible exceptions depending on circumstances.
We hope your connection with Frankie's World and your rat(s) will be a lasting one, and we are here to support you through ALL OF IT: the adoption, transition, as well as ANY TIME in the future. We also LOVE getting updates on rats in their forever homes! SERIOUSLY, if you have ANY questions, want rat care tips or experience any issues at all, let us know! We are ALWAYS here for rats (whether they've been adopted from us or not), and the humans that care for them.
Thank you for your interest in pet rat adoption! Our rats have so much love to share and make the BEST companions! Super smart, social, and make very deep bonds with their people.
The questions we ask are to determine the following so please be as honest and open as you can:
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if for whatever reason you are no longer able to properly care for your rat(s), or you believe that your home is no longer a good fit for them, we ask that you PLEASE BRING YOUR RAT(S) BACK TO US! Please do not give away, sell, or re-home them on your own. There is absolutely no judgement, we understand that circumstances can change, and are happy to take them back into our care if need be, whether that be temporarily or permanently. We are not a rat breeder, we are a rat adoption centre and only want the best lives for our rescues. IF you need to return a rat(s), it is YOUR responsibility to get them back to us, whether that's to our physical location (most often Parry Sound where we have the most space), or a foster home if we can secure one. We can help with transport at times, in exchange for a donation to cover gas money and time, but our resources are thin, so we appreciate you taking the time to bring them back if they need to return to us.
We have connections with other Ontario rat adoption centres and can link you up with amazing rat shelters in Ontario if our rats aren't suited to you for whatever reason!
If you don't see any rats listed that feel like a good fit, we often have new intakes that aren't yet updated on the website, so if you are looking for something specific, send us a message and we can let you know who else we might have available!
Hello to our potential forever family! We are Turbo (black hooded, 2yr) and Tank (Grey, 1.5yr). We are very friendly boys who are super curious and love free roaming. We come for snack sounds and love to cuddle!
These boys were surrendered with another one of our brothers as a group of 3. They were unfortunately not getting along too well resulting in the 3rd boy needing a tail amputation. He healed well and is in a forever home! These boys are still with us and have unfortunately started fighting again. They seem to not like the smell of other rats and despite our best efforts, have not been able to integrate with other males and also aren't thrilled about living together. Although extremely rare, we have come across a handful of male rats in similar situations who despite our best efforts, want to be on their own. We think that might be the case for these boys so we are looking to home them as solo males to live on their own with lots of human attention but no other rats. We know this is unusual so please if you're interested or concerned ask us about them! We're looking to find them somewhere where they can live happy for the rest of their lives!
Meet the Rat Street Boys! There are 6 sweetie pies looking for homes. They are being fostered near Milton. These boys were being bred for snake food and the person’s snake passed, so they surrendered the rest of their live feeders to us. These boys are all very sweet, many are very cuddly and confident. They are around 8 months old. They would make a great addition to any rattie home, whether first time owner or experienced folks!
They would do best as being the only rats and not integrated with any current males.
These theee boys were surrendered by a couple who loved them very much but unfortunately had a dog and cat who were relentless trying to get to the rat room and they wanted the best and safest home for these lovely boys. Marty they first saved from a snake food breeder very young, and they went to PetSmart to get him a friend Finnigan, but they were hostile to eachother until they went back and also bought Finnigans brother Huxley, then they became a bonded trio.
Marty and Finnigan are super playful and friendly. Marty had a bit of an infection when he came to us what's been fully treated. However, because of the meds he needed to be syringe feed, Marty temporarily decided he didn't like being picked up. He seems to have moved past that now and is ok being handled. Huxley is still a bit shy and keeps to himself. He can be picked up but prefers to keep to himself or hangout in his hut while he gets used to his surroundings.
This friendly and outgoing group of 3 boys are the best of friends and waiting for their forever home! When they were surrendered to us, they were very overweight and have been on a diet! They are now only mildly obese and on their way to a healthier weight so they can live long and happy lives!
These boys would be great for anyone with or without experience with rats and can't wait to make some family very happy!
These lovely little ratties are looking for some forever homes as their owner unfortunately ended up with more rats than they intended. Unfortunately they were told they were adopting 2 females but were given a male and female and now have too many on their hands. They were sweet rats but are a bit skittish and would need some time learning to be handled. There are seven males and three females (D.O.B March 7, 2025). Located in Arthur Ontario.
5 boys with black head and white bodies
2 all white boys
Crumble is about a year old, cream colour male. He is very friendly. Loves attention and no health issues.
He's located in Peterborough and can come with his cage if its needed.
