PLEASE NOTE: Our rats can be adopted ALL OVER ONTARIO! We have wonderful volunteers and can arrange rides to almost anywhere so don't let the location stop you from inquiring about some ratties!
Thank you for your interest in pet rat adoption! Our rats have so much love to share and make the BEST companions! Super smart, social, and make very deep bonds with their people, the most "human-like" of any companion animal we've ever had.
If you've decided you want to adopt a pet rat, please fill out the adoption application form below. The questions we ask are to determine the following so please be as honest and open as you can
- To determine your experience and knowledge of rats - that helps us to help you find the best rats that fit exactly what you are searching for
- To find out where you are at with setting up enclosures
- To ensure you will care for rats and take them to a vet if needed just like dogs and cats
- To ensure you have enough time to give rats the enrichment they and free roam time
We hope your connection with Frankie's World and your rat(s) will be a lasting one, and we are here to support you through the transition as well as ANY TIME in the future. We also LOVE getting updates on rats in their forever homes! SERIOUSLY, if you have any questions, want rat care tips or experience any issues at all, let us know! We are always here for you and the rats.
We have done rat adoptions in Hamilton, Burlington, Mississauga, Toronto, Kitchener, London and other cities in southern Ontario. We also have connections with other Ontario rat adoption centres and can link you up with amazing rat shelters in Ontario if our rats aren't suited to you for whatever reason.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, if for whatever reason you are no longer able to properly care for your rat(s), or you believe that your home is no longer a good fit for them, we ask that you PLEASE BRING YOUR RAT(S) BACK TO US! Please do not give away, sell, or re-home them on your own. There is absolutely no judgement, we understand that circumstances can change, and are happy to take them back into our care if need be, whether that be temporarily or permanently. We are not a rat breeder, we are a rat adoption centre and only want the best lives for our rescues.

We came across an add on Kijiji where these boys were looking for a home. A person was advertising them as snake food but some lovely human couldn't let that happen and took them in temporarily while she could look for someone to take permanent care for them. They just so happened to be located in Owen Sound where one of us was working and so we went and picked them up straight away! Now Owen Sound is part of Bruce County so their names came to us quickly!

Mama M has made them these amazing pocket hammocks that they just can't get enough of! These boys are extremely friendly and when they're not snoozing in their super comfy hammocks, they love cuddling with their moms and playing in their pens. They are looking for a family that will give them lots of attention!
